Ancient Mesopotamia was an ancient civilization of wealth! It was very beneficial to the Mesopotamian economy that this was "the land between two rivers". The fertile grounds of this land made for successful farming of crops and livestock. Farmers were able to raise surpluses because of these great conditions. The surplus crops and livestock were then traded for other goods and services that helped move the Ancient Mesopotamian culture forward.
